i wish i was programmed with the ability to budget my money wisely. if i could go back in time when my genes were being pulled together to create me or back to the time when i witnessed that frivolous spending spree that created this need for me to spend money whenever i get it, i would be wealthier. i guess i could blame my mom and dad as they may have played a slight role in this. one of my memories as a child...a favorite memory of mine...happened whenever my dad got paid. there was excitement when this happened because a)my parents were usually happier because they would have money, b)going out for dinner was a celebration, and c)usually the prospect of being able to receive a sort of allowance or the opportunity to get an entertaining personal item was a reality (entertaining personal items include - cds/toys/shoes/clothes/you know stuff kids/teenagers want). my dad is pretty easy going when it comes to money. when he has it, he likes to give it away - be it through dinners, presents, or loans. he likes to share the wealth. this is my favorite trait of his.
either way, i may have inherited that trait. when i have more money than i have fingers, i tend to splurge and forget that a budget would be important...then a week later, i'm broke and eating ramen. i can't help it though, i show my likeness for people by purchasing things for them. there is another reason for this that involved my childhood but i prefer to save that for another time.
onto other things, i think a dust bunnie has taken over my immune system. my nose is raw and my head is pounding and full of liquid ooze. i've never been this sick in one season before, it is getting to the point of rhi-diculousness. but it brings me to a rhi special alert...if you have the chance, get a flu shot - the new england area has widespread flu activity...a cause for alarm - http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm.
so people, wash your hands thoroughly and stay away from the mbta handrails. rhi thanks you for your precautionary measures.
